Written on August, 07, a love song for a woman I had many reasons to equate to a wildcat. Stroll Stroll Stroll lady feline Gentle paws crunch autumn leaves Graceful movement, as fluid as art in motion There may have been a more graceful one Yet I can see her not Dusk sun colors horizons red And stroll Stroll my lady panther Let the muscles take you Step by perfect step And let this unworthy one watch And bask in the perfection of your beauty The may have been a more beautiful one Yet I can judge it not First star winkles, just above your head And stroll Stroll my wild cat Grace the world by the deadly elegance An art creation of nature More perfect than any human could ever hope to create Let your steps carry you to the place you wish to be in Let the fluid waters mirror your leap And if there is a more lovely one I can not believe that And under silver moonlight Stroll, The one I love Stroll and let me join you Dedicated to Hiske, who's smile made this poem so clear within my heart 22.08.07 Another one dedicated to the same lady Sail, Silver Moon Oh dark, dark is the sky Night has shrouded all my lands White, white diamonds shine Stars of ever light Sail silver moon, light the sky at night Show the wrongs, show the rights Show me love tonight Oh weird, so weird, dream is all my life Clear summer skies Warm sand of beach White, white diamonds shine Stars of ever light Cold, so cold it was Winter, winter night Not once with light Sail silver moon, guide the ships at night Show the pains, show the joys Show me love tonight Oh clear so clear, touch of loving hand Smiling, laughing face Two hearts as one White, white diamonds shine Stars of ever light Oh so warm it's now Light all around Sail, silver moon, warm my heart tonight Show me dreams, show me hopes Be my love tonight Dedicated to Hiske, my Silver Moon, for lighting up that which I lost in the dark of night Ehud Gat, August 31st, 2007 Now, let's go back in time? back in 2004, I was with this gal? proud and headstrong, my kind really. At one point we were at her place, she fell asleep while I was watching the full moon? and as the light of the full moon fell upon her face through the window while she slept, I realized that when she sleeps, all the masks fall down, showing who she really is. I believe that is the point I realized how much I cared for her Fallen Angel Silver moonbeam Pierces black night sky Through the opened window Caresses your gentle skin I lay awake and gaze at you Wonder filling my heart Under the silver moonbeam You are sound asleep You look gentle, beautiful and fragile Like an angel fallen to earth You whisper muffled words And turn around in your sleep I touch you cheek gently "Hush," I tell you, "sleep my dear" Touching you brings fire to my bones Warming, caressing Your skin is smooth like a baby Like an angel fallen to Earth I look out through the window Towards the silver moon Towards the halls of heaven I kiss you on the forehead "Sleep," I whisper gently, "sleep my fallen angel". Your sleep is quiet again I sigh and smile a bit I look at your beauty once again And decide again That you are no woman But an angel, Fallen to Earth Sunday, Nov 28th, 2004 Dedicated to Shoshan Going far far back in time to the year 2000. Kat, Katherina if you want to be all official and what not, was the first woman I loved truly? 8 years later I still sometimes ache for her, which is kinda odd, I know. Kat was, for wont of better word, perfect. She didn't just SEEM perfect. She WAS perfect. in the light of that, a mortal man like me, full of flaws and imperfections, was less than she deserved? The Poems for Kat series is a real old one. Somewhat more raw and not showing the finesse of later works, something in them still sings to me at the dead of night. Poems for Kat: Endless love At dawn I'll dream of you In days I think Of nothing but you My love to you endless And for you I'd go To the end of the world For one love is you And you are my life Just for you I'll climb The highest mountain For your love can rise me From the depth of the ocean I'd give you the world if I could And if not, I shall Give you my endless love I'll fight the strongest dragon Just for you I'll do everything For endless love is true For your love, I strive In the long boundless space of life I hold you in my heart And hope you do it too You're a jewel A shiny diamond You are the gem That shines in the crown of the universe If you just smile My happiness is full You keep me alive You are my will to live I wanna hold you in my arms And meld with you To be your one I'll do anything And if not by bodies, we'll be together in our hearts forever my endless love to you my beloved one my dearest my only Kat 01.12.99 Ah? it was a cold January, that year? and there was yours truly, cold and lonely and terribly missing his perfect Kat Poems for Kat: Miss you I dream alone, At the darkness of the night, And my heart bounces? Will I see you again? I listen to music, At the dawn of my life And think of you? Will I hear your voice again? I hold my pillow tight, As if it was You? Will I hug you again? I come home and see you Standing there, Laughing? I hold you tight and cry I kiss your lips and? I wake up? It was only a dream? Will I kiss you again? For my heart, mind, spirit and soul Miss you hard, Like I've never felt before The power of love Is stronger than The power of titans Will I love you again? Will I hold you again? Will you and I ever meet? For I love you, True love it is? And you love me True love? I miss you too much my love, My beloved one, My dearest, My only Kat Dedicated to Kat, 13.01.00 This one, written on January 2000 too, came with a dedication line I still relate to today. It read: These lines are dedicated to the girl who taught me what "true love" means. Poems for Kat: You are my only one You are my only one, You are my love, You, in my galaxy Are the sun. You are the key To the precious thing Called heart You hold my life In your hands, If death of live It's your call? My life is fragile, So are you, And in your heart Is where I belong. You are like fire, Burning but purifying. You warm my cold emptiness It is you who Chose to let me Live As you said, "I think I've fallen For you too" For I'm fallen Not by gun shot Or by sword But by the sweet arrows Of love, that Cupid Shot into my heart. Dark was the night I was walking through Till you found me Oh I love you! You are my only one My bright light My fiery sun My life Kat. I am unsure WHEN I wrote this next one? but I recall it was a rainy day? torrents of rain coming down from the sky as if God shared my grief over losing Kat Poems for Kat: Forgotten Times Would you, If you could, Go back in time? To our times together, To our one soul, One heart, One love, One at all. Would you, If you could, Revive the heat The fire, That burned in our souls. Would you, If you could, Rebuild the sun Of our love, The light of our lives The warmth of our hearts. Would you, If you could, Hold me in your arms, Just for one last time? Would you, If you could, Restore my life, Leave her to her own, And return to me Just for a smile Would you, If you could, Return to the days, To our forgotten times? A ballad for a change, this one was not, originally, intended as a poem for Kat. I wrote it two years (almost exactly) after Kat went away and it was the oddest thing to realize in hindsight that the Moonshadow really mirrors the way I saw Kat. It was retroactively deemed a Poem for Kat. Poems for Kat: Ballad Of the Moonshadow She came to the world To the sound of Guitars Her mother was Moon Her siblings, the stars Her name was Seleny The Lady of Aradow But everyone called her The Silver Moonshadow And everywhere she went When she stopped to disembark She never once feared The Moon fears no dark She found precious stones And had plenty of gold But vain she was not Or so it is told She built up a mansion A castle as home She slept in a roofless Inspiring moon dome But most of her gold Went for people to feed For the moon after all Has no inkling of greed She traveled a lot And she saw many sights She famed her own name As the 'bless of the night' Her name was a bless And her powers a tale She helped all the hopeless And people at ail And if she got hurt Her eyes always stayed dry Because as you know The stars never cry And one day The suitors began to arrive Together as one Like bees from a hive A royalty prince And a king who was mage A strong gallant knight And a wise famous sage And even when tired She never went blasting The moon, my dear friend Has patience everlasting But even though suitors Came like moles to a mound She stayed ever single And flaws she had found The sage had a limp And the knight was a fool The prince was so vain And the king mad and cruel But even though it seems That she should have gone mad Do not be forgetting The stars are never sad And one day she said "I have had my fill" She gave all her things To the keeper of a mill She said her farewells When the skies were black as tar And she hopped and she popped And she turned to a star Because now you see Her perfection was a decoy Even though it is strong The moon knows not joy 03.11.03 Leaving Kat aside for a while, here's a peek into the dark side. Who knows what lies within a man's soul? for every triumph there's an equal failure, so I've heard. I tend to avoid writing when I'm in bad moods but sometimes?. This one was written during a bad spell, when all things seemed to be coming apart around me? Castles Civilization advances As it does, we build. We build statues Monuments Empires Achievements We build Castles. We build them with gold With ebony and ivory With marble and mosaic Our castles rise high With great minarets Spires and walls Defying nature Defying structure Defying god And yet As time sweeps in Like a vast, unstoppable ocean Then our castles dissolve Like illusions of sand and seashells And though we watch our castles of achievement Being swept by waves of time We keep closing our eyes And trying to reach something And try to build more castels Like children on the sea shore And never seem to realize That the illusion of "I got something" And "I did something" Is nothing more than a sand castle Ready to be swept away As the next wave comes. 06.12.06 Another dark one from the same period. It occurs to me that science may be our downfall? and while that may or may not come to pass, I'm quite certain that science would eventually be its own downfall. I often equate science to a religion that's following golden calves and this ballad demonstrates that well, I believe The Engines of Mynaron The seven gods have once convened Create a world they would With Faes and Elves and Dragonkind And many other brood And humans they created too Of every shade and tan And soon the world has come to life Began the age of man And each and every living being From great to tiny small Were basically alike the rest To each there was a soul And many years have come to pass The many creatures thrived And peace and love enshourded all And none has been deprived The seven gods sat back, relaxed Their world was at its peak. However, they could not have known It was a passing streak For at a brisk and fateful day In a world that knew no strife A terror has began to roll The Engines woke to life And Mynaron was but a boy A human, that is all And like the many other beings His heart has held his soul To travel, Mynaron has liked To climb the trees of fruit And Faes have smiled at him in day And love had taken root For Mynaron, the human boy Has captured Elany's heart And the Faerie's heart has gone for him A human, strong and smart Through trees and plains the couple strode And love has bloomed so strong And as is common in such a case Something had to go wrong For now the Engines were awake And they would end it all Because like any such machine The Engines had no soul For power though, the Engines strived For knowledge and the stars For making wonders, science-like And radios and cars And so a plan had came to them The Engines that would thrive If they were to succeed in this Then love must not survive And so they have began the trap Am avalanche amuck And as the dust has settled in Our boy was caught by rock Broken like a tiny twig Mynaron cried the call The seven gods he plead his heart To save his mortal soul But one thing that he couldn't know And neither could his mate The seven took a solemn vow To never mess with fate. So wounded to his shattered bones From rocks that slide and fall Mynaron suddenly received the help The Engines heard his call. "Join us," they have pleaded him "Wisdom and power will be found" And Mynaron had fallen to the trap For no help was around. Surrounded by his evil friends Mynaron paid the toll For for his life, a simple thing He'd given up his soul But broken now, his body was And nothing could done But "fear not" the Engines said Repairs have now began "For if you wish to run the fields again And climb the trees of fruits Two Engine arms you will receive And legs that need no boots" And metal rods they have produced And shiny states-of-art Some Engine legs, some Engine arms And soulless Engine heart. And when it all was said and done He stood all grim and tall For in the Engine heart he had No inkling of a soul. "But there is price to pay" they said "the Engines you must earn For our Engine tech machines Require fuel to burn". For Engines Arms require scales From Dragonkind to take And Elf ears are the only thing That fuel for legs would make And for the special Engine heart Acquire it you must For every pumping day it gives A pinch of Faerie dust And with this shiny Engine-Man The storm began to roll And soon his name would bring the dread To each and every soul For Dragonkind he killed in tens Though they would plea in tears And Elven sons he butchered too To rip out all their ears And magic gardens he defiled And ravaged any Fae For nothing could have stopped him now Or even keep at bay And one day he has stepped into Where Elany has hid And as he saw the frightened Fae To hug her he had bid But Elany squeaked and cried She knew him not at all For her, he was the Engine-Man Machine without a soul "But my Faerie love, it's me" He told her in distress And though she must have known then She cried out her digress "The Engine-Man you are," she wept "a cold machine of doom My Mynaron would never be This monster raised to loom" "the seven gods have left my dead," He told her to her face "The Engines saved my vanquished life With fuel and metal lace" "a fool you are, the Engine-Man, I know you not at all The dragons and the elves you killed And left them not a soul". And as she said these awful words An anger came around And with his Engine arm of lead He struck her to the ground And that was when the age of gods Has come to bitter end For now the Engines were on top This nothing could have mend With golden calves and proofs a lot They would now reign supreme And Fae and Elf and Dragonkind Were dubbed as just a dream And that is how this story ends Sad ending, clear for all For in this brave new world we have There is no god or soul. For where the golden calves control Both men and also beast The Engines will enforce their law And love will not exist. Well, let's cheer up (but stick to Faes for a bit)? back in early 2004, I dated this gal who was into faeries and such? pretty fun? this one's for her The Faerie Circle Somewhere, hidden amidst "Civilization" She hides Near overwhelmed by dead concrete By railroads and cities She resides You cannot find the circle alone You must be led It's where the sun still shines On the last flower bed The scent Of dark blossom Guided me The light Of fallen stars Bedazzled me You cannot find the circle intently This is how it prevailed It's where the faeries sing and dance And kiss the roses red Pure and clean As spring time This is how it had been The dance of Faerie In the circle Of lush and evergreen You cannot own the circle It is not to be held But if you are just lucky though With it you may just meld She led me through The forest of dead concrete She held my hand so tight And when she showed me Into the circle She made things come out right You'll never tame the Faerie It's not how it is done But if you gain her love Then two become just one The touch of her On asphalt Turns dead to lush and green My life Now start to blossom As it should have been I dreamed I saw the circle The Faerie holds my hand We danced and sang through all night long And kissed the roses red The night now seems to end And wake up So I must My mind refuses to leave her And return to stone And dust I opened up my eyes And was amazed to see My dream became reality My Faerie is here with me 17.04.04 I think the one thing that always fascinated me about poems was that they never seemed to be there. They were created out of thin air in an instant of pure gratifying cooperation of writer and muse and I could neither direct them nor influence them, nor have I ever edited a poem after it was written?. The muse is a fickle fickle lady but when she's around?. Well? G. Bernard Shaw once said: "Writing is like an orgasm, only lasts longer". This one was written in 03, I believe. Dancing with the muses Night Can you feel the wind? I can't Did you hear the owl cry? I didn't Do you see the stars blink and wink? I'm blind to their light When everyone dance, why do I stand in the side? What is it that gently caresses my body? Who's invisible hands are those? Who owns the sweet voice singing in my ears? Do you know her? My eyes are closed because I never open my eyes as I kiss someone Love is beautiful, isn't it? She caresses me with her tender fingers Fingers which you can't possibly see Her gentle voice echoes in my ears Songs which you cannot hear Her lips brush mine sweetly Do you really believe that I just don't dance now? Wrong you are How very wrong I am dancing My body may stand still But my soul dances Dances all along the night Dances with the one you cannot see Dances to music you cannot hear Dances, blind to the lights and the sights Dances with the one Dances with the only Dances with the muse Kalanda Jolin (or K.J. for short) is the name I've given to my very old computer (which dates back to 1999, geez)? a computer with a personality? and a presence. Back in October 03, it was party to an orgy of unimpeded writing that ended up in 60 pages or so of a story written during one weekend. Channeling the muse the way K.J. did led me to write this ballad which, in a metaphore, tells the story of K.J. and two computers that tried to succeed her. Ballad of a Knight (Serenade to KJ) This story begins in an ancient land Where dragons truly crawl It comes to prove that in every knight There lies a human soul Our hero grew up in the court So proud and wise of words And in the mornings he would Train and practice wooden swords To the eyes of ladies he would train And practice all day forth And ladies he would never meet Had watched him, south and north And as our boy grew to adult And picked a true steel sword His smile was gentle and his eyes were sweet A quick man of the word And as he grew he put his eyes On a damsel dressed in white Her smile bedazzling and her eyes Were blue and warm and bright And this is how the story starts In a land where dragons bite It serves to prove of nothing but The soul beneath the knight Our hero vowed to fame her name To bring her pride and gold And every time his name was spoke Kalandra's Knight he would be called And so he set into the wild And people spread the word Kalandra's Knight, the just and brave Would help them with his sword And years flew by and fame he earned And tales were being told About the knight and his lady love And how he's just and bold And now the story will entangle Our hero the bold and right Because this is a story about The soul beneath the knight The years have passed and age had come Kalandra grew a bit old Her sight had dimmed, her lips grew pale Her skin began to fold And our knight the brave and just Fell for another lass Her skin was smooth, her cheeks were straight Her smile could fade the grass And so our lady Kalandra the old Had been forgotten from heart And only the crickets remembered her name But they just leap and dart But if you think that this is how Our story comes to end Well let me tell you you are wrong There's more than this my friend 'Cause our knight had chosen wrong His lady was no doll And as he spent his nights with her Some demons flared his soul So disappointed and enraged He left her without word And as he drew his blade again The rust had stained his sword. Hopeless and quite desperate He set to cross the sea To find a lass he truly loved For everyone to see And so he met with the hotheaded Onboard a swan boat's deck And as he saw her smile the first His heart would pound and ache But if you think that that's enough The story is at end I fear my friend you are misled And you can not pretend For even at the redhead's bed Or fighting in a brawl Our knight could never really soothe His aching human soul To gold and glory he has aimed And held a rusty sword But when he tried to tell his heart He lacked even a word The redhead was hotheaded yes But she was true and pretty And everyone could never grasp Our knight's depressed self-pity And one day he just had enough With pains and aching spirit And now he knew what wrong he did And what must be to cure it And this is where the story folds And once again reclaims This is not just a fairytale It speaks of unhealed maims Again our hero crossed the sea In speed of dragon's flight To find the cure for his true pains The wounded soul of a knight To Lonely Tower he had climbed To see her but once more And Lady Kalandra was up there Her heart was now offshore But as our gallant knight of true Apologized and turned Her smile came back at speed of light Her beauty had returned And once again our knight had set To fame his lady's nest And everybody heard her name From east to south and west And as he once again would fight In name of his true love His wounded soul was once again A free and healthy dove And as he healed he once again Was just and wise of word And by some magic undefined The rust came off his sword And this is it and that was that You see, my dear old friend We came about, the way it was Our story is at end Because unlike in the stories past Where heroes served the light We now discover at this point There's man in every knight Imperfect as you might just be And not so slick of word Remember always that a knight Is but a human with a sword 20th October, 2003 A relatively new one, written on December 07, this one is written because sometimes all the love in the world isn't enough. It's a bit clumsy because it was originally written in Hebrew and translation always loses something. Titanic and the Iceberg Night of cold winter Waking up, engulfed in terror Another dream froze my soul In the midst of darkness She sleeps by my side Gentle even in her sleep And in a moment's weakness I kiss her cheek again I sense that she is cold Or at least less warm than she was I pump my blood faster Giving her my warmth I eye her silently And I know it has to stop Tonight will be the last night When she will be close to me Her love to me is the Titanic Plowing the sea of darkness But no land waits on the horizon Only a jagged iceberg And there are never enough lifeboats I'm a loving man slowly pulling away A warm man with a cold soul I cannot be your anchor Only a terrible, jagged iceberg Because you are not The right one You are bright and royal And it seems only God would sink you But you are not whom I desire It isn't you who will unfreeze my soul I know there's no point Even if she was accompanied by a string quartet All I'd do is pierce her heart Sinking her is but a question of when I have no shadow of doubt The steering of her soul is too small And so I must choose I must say "that's enough" There's no prettier than you, Titanic Magnificent mega ship But I am the Iceberg And our ending would be bad Fragments of my soul Frozen like crystals of doom Is all I can give you And it's simply not right So when morning dawns I'll explain That she's beautiful and good But the end to us now comes I cannot bear sinking her Sail away, Titanic Steer clear of the Iceberg You are beautiful, incredible But this isn't the right relationship I don't want you, Titanic Beautiful mega ship My soul craves for another flagship She will come, I know She will freeze the ice A globe spanning warming And a bond with no jagged ends Take my heat freely, Titanic But turn away from the Icebreg I give you this as my gift I am not the right person You will probably wonder forever Ask yourself all your life And never truly understand Why this winter too I chose to stay alone Going back to the Dark Side for a minute? here's one saying I really like: "Guns don't kill people. People kill people". The Drinker of Blood Our story begins in a land far and old with the fairest of girls and a lad strong and bold for the lad had in mind with both gold and some pearls to buy him the hand of the fairest of girls Alas she has told him that marry she wont unless to a hero who's brave and gaunt And so she has told the brave young lad she'll marry the slayer of the Drinker of Blood The lad picked up weapons and armor he bought and day after day for the Drinker he sought But none ever knew her or where she would dwell and the lad got depressed his life turned to hell but one day he met an man wise and old who met with the Drinker or so he has told The wise man admitted but discouraged the lad he wasn't yet ready for the Drinker of Blood The boy went on quest and fought a pirate with a hook and retrieved a scepter, a crown and a book he turned to the man and begged to know where will the Drinker be waiting for his blow the old man declined and reject the lad he still couldn't face the Drinker of blood the boy got enraged but went out again to find him a monster and prove that he can he met with a ghostly creature that moans and everyone feared it the Duke of bones he fought with the duke for a day and a night and when it had fell he knew he won the fight again to the old man he now has returned to face with the Drinker he made his demand the old man just shrugged and refused the young lad he still couldn't match with the Drinker of Blood our lad near went mad and took ride on a wagon this time he had meant to kill off a dragon he found his intended in a cave on a hill he challanged and boasted and charged for the kill the dragon had roared but before it had knew a sword in his stomach the dragon had slew the lad the returned all sputtered with mud and demanded to kill the Drinker of Blood You tell me where she is the man he has told or you will now die unwise and old I killed off a pirate a duke and a dragon and their blood on my hand like wine from a flagon the old man then smiled and told the lad he was finally ready for the Drinker of Blood he then took a mirror off the wall and showed the lad just how one can fall Your pride and your anger you foolish lad have turned you into a Drinker of Blood For nothing is firecer or worse than you did you kill as you wish as you want, as you bid so if you would really care to, my lad fall on your sword and slay the Drinker of Blood June 21st, 2005 There's a story behind this ballad. I ran into this obscene cartoon once? a woman mating with two wolves? obscene and disgusting but there was something seductive despite it? an odd conflict I can't quite place? anyways, it was the inspiration for this ballad? Bride of the wolves Oh this story ends in pain Few know it, I for one For to be part of not her kin The things that she has done It falls to me, a lesser one This story so to tell Correct me if I stray a bit The course is set as well It is unclear, to one and all How this has come to pass But humanling among the wolves So grew a fair-haired lass But feral as she grew with them She knew she weren't kin Her legs were two, her hands so fine And loving them was sin I don't pretend to know her mind Or how her fate has run But it is clear, to me, today Some things must not be done Among the pups she played as child To hunt and share she learned And even though they were not kin Her place she truly earned The pack has run, and she with them A wolf on pair of legs They hunted deer and hare and elk And raided birdy eggs But even as she tore through meat Along with wolfish pack Her eyes were sharp, her ears not so A wolf wears not a sack But even hunting for her meals And scars that she had won She knew to separate herself For some things can't be done. And one clear day the hunters came And lured the wolves to trap And with the pack she fell along Her hands were tied in wrap The wolfish maid was taken off While the pack was set to run To live with kin, with humanlings To learn from them of fun But she escaped her trueborn kin She liked them not one bit Her back she turned and run she had Her pack she set to meet It is so sad that this was that All clear in light of sun For as she set off to her wolves There were things to be done For grown she had and need she found The need for kin would itch And with her heart so set she would Become a full-grown bitch The smell she took from other wolf A female in the heat And in a crazy summer night The males she went to meet On knees and hands she crouched prepared This lass that now would kneel And by the smell, they came to her To mount her as they will A sin it was, a bad one that For man and wolf as one And as the bride to wolves gave in And oh what she has done A month has passed, and pains began Like ghosts from frozen tomb And not too long has passed until A wretch grew in her womb Not man nor beast, this thing has been An ill-spawned wretch of doom It grew beyond what she could bear And there was no more room And as it grew inside her womb With fangs and claws to match Her blood came through her pierced thin skin As it began to hatch Her death was near it's clear to all Like river, blood will run For this was what a human pays Some things should not be done And what's the meaning of this all, You wonder, oh dear friend A moral there, I do assure Right here before the end For we are not the same as all And differences grow And if you join with those who're not like you Only pain would show Be true to who you really are Accept it with some pride For if you run with packs not yours You'll end like wolfish bride This last one, unofficially called "The song of the revolution" is the result of an epic clash between yours truly and some dude calling himself Starblade over an internet forum? technically, he won, though his victory was a pyrrhic one? Ballad of Megara When all the stars have fallen And yellow is the grass Then we will miss Megara A fair and dark haired lass The sun was sweet upon us A thousand men as one How many miles, Megara All, I say, and none The foul knave of madness The kingdom he would rule And many men, both wise and strong He easily would fool He had no name to mention The knave of maddened star But blade he had and anger His hate would drive him far And when no man could save us And doom seemed to descend A warrior has risen To stop him should would claim When all the rivers run dry And monsters form a horde Then we will miss Megara A lady with a sword The wine was sweet within us Nine hundred men as one How many miles, Megara A million and yet none She may have seemed like iron All crass and rusty old But underneath the surface Her heart was made of gold The knave she rose to counter To stop him so she willed And to her cause we flocked then From every tribe and guild We followed brave Megara From sea to shinning sea We fought for days, for weeks, for years We fought for all to see And when the ash will cloud the air And blood will wash the field Will sing for you Megara The girl who wouldn't yield The song was sweet on your lips Eight hundred men and one How many miles Megara All I say, yet none The foe we have defeated The lady led us through But oh, mistake was made then Oh yes, how it is true For on his knees, the knave was And cry he would and heave And begged the noble leader To mercy and forgive And though her will was iron She's done as was foretold She gave the monster mercy Because her heart was gold And when the trees are all burnt And we would have no food Then miss we will, Megara Her heart was all too good The spoils were sweet upon us Five hundred men or one How many days, Megara We thought that we have won The knave was gone for decades Forgot him we must have We didn't know his madness The vengeance he would crave But fool, oh that he wasn't That foul knave of doom A new plan he came up with Upon us he would loom To strike the fair Megara Betrayal he would plan And minds he twisted for it Of many righteous men And when the call was raised again And hordes on us converged We stood by you, Megara As doom on us emerged The dawn was sweet behind us Four hundred men or none We fought for you Megara A hundred fights or one The liar has betrayed you His knife had pierced your soul And still you fought Megara Though dying, you'd not fall Yet we have been defeated Forgive us, noble lass And you have fallen victim Your blood has stained the grass Now madness is upon us The knave now holds the crown With chaos in his pocket And madness in his frown And as the land is running dry And people flee in fear We cry for you Megara Our leader, true and dear The land is sour on us Three hundred men and one We've lost, my dear Megara And justice is now gone The knave is now in power And people he'd bereave And fools we are Megara For we don't up and leave The knave now has his helpers His bidding they would do The cutter, the rider and the teacher But they are much ado The cutter has no edges The rider, horseless pawn And oh the lady teacher Her back has not a bone And when the people cry out And those are in control We miss you, oh Megara Who's God has graced with soul The days are sour for us Two hundred men as one How doomed we are, Megara The end will see us gone So knaves will rule the country Its how this story end And lost we have, Megara I miss you now, old friend But hope is not all gone yet And safe the knave is not For in his lust for power He's blind to see the rot A thousand men had followed Megara, Golden Heart And only one now lives It's me, without a doubt And when the hope is all but gone And fouls knaves control I fight for thee, Megara I will bring forth his fall The song still sings within me Of thousand, the last one So many miles, you foul knave Yet I am not yet gone Ehud Gat 06.07.2007
